"Secret of the Past" Acrylics on duplexA tender moment shared between generations. A grandmother shares tales of her youth with her little friends in this heartwarming market scene.  The market was my sanctuary, where memories danced in the air, whispering stories that begged to be told. I captured them on canvas, raw and unfiltered. This piece, in particular, speaks to me - a grandmother, her cat, and a sketchbook, a symphony of love, loss, and laughter.Elders are known to share stories with great enthusiasm, and she was no exception, recounting tales of days gone by with a sparkle in her eye. In that moment, time stood still, and all that remained was the gentle passing of stories from one heart to another. More stories are waiting to be uncovered.

"Roora"Acrylics83 x 110 cm(pronounced roo-rah) - A child compensation in marriage. My painting depicts a cherished tradition where a man and his family embark on a meaningful journey to the bride's home, carrying symbolic gifts to seal their union. The groom's family presents groceries and livestock, a gesture of respect and appreciation, with cattle holding special significance. Notably, one cow is designated for the bride's mother, lovingly referred to as 'Mombe ya Amai' or 'Mother's Cow', highlighting the importance of maternal blessings in our culture.
